The Lancer Evolution VIII was a BIG deal when it launched – it showed a side of Mitsubishi that many American enthusiasts knew only from video games and watching WRC races, and it feels a lot more analog than the newer Evo X. This particular car features a long list of modifications that undoubtedly enhance the already exciting driving experience. It also boasts a 5-speed manual transmission and all-wheel-drive, plus a clean, accident-free Carfax report, adding some peace of mind. The Evo VIII has become emblematic of this era of tuner cars — and if you’ve been searching for one with some desirable modifications already installed, look no further.

Mitsubishi launched the Lancer Evolution VIII for the 2003 model year. While the rally-bred sedan was already a legend in enthusiast circles around the world, this was the first time that it was officially sold in the United States. It received a powerful turbocharged engine, permanent all-wheel-drive, aluminum components to keep weight in check, and a look that drew inspiration from rally cars.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, rated at 271 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque in stock form. The modifications likely increase those figures, but a dyno sheet is not available. Output is sent to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
